What is Y-134?
Y134 is a raloxifene-derived selective estrogen receptor modulator investigated in receptor assays and rodent tissue models. It is a distinct molecule, not simply another formulation of raloxifene.
Mechanism & research focus
Binding experiments found greater affinity for estrogen receptor α than β. In the tested reporter systems, Y134 antagonized estrogen-receptor signaling; its effects depended on the tissue and experimental setting.
What the research covers
A 2007 study examined receptor binding, reporter activity, estrogen-responsive breast cancer cells and ovariectomized rats. It reported inhibition of estrogen-stimulated cell proliferation and mammary/uterine responses in those models. These findings characterize pharmacology, not therapeutic efficacy in humans.
What remains uncertain
The cited evidence does not validate a transdermal commercial formulation or establish human absorption, clinical benefit or endocrine safety. Raloxifene's clinical evidence cannot substitute for studies of Y134 itself. Cell-culture potency should not be treated as a clinical performance estimate.
The evidence label describes the linked research, not the suitability of a catalog product for use in people. Formulation, identity, purity, and measured content must be assessed separately.
