What is Mazdutide?
Mazdutide is a peptide agonist of GLP-1 and glucagon receptors. Its research includes controlled clinical studies of body-weight and metabolic outcomes.
Mechanism & research focus
Dual receptor activity brings together GLP-1-associated regulation of appetite and glucose with glucagon-associated metabolic signaling. Clinical outcomes reflect the combined molecule and study conditions, not proof that each proposed pathway independently explains an effect.
What the research covers
The 2025 GLORY-1 phase 3 report studied 610 Chinese adults with overweight or obesity. Participants assigned mazdutide had greater weight reduction than placebo and changes in prespecified cardiometabolic measures over the study. Gastrointestinal symptoms were the most frequently reported adverse events.
What remains uncertain
Population, treatment duration and trial design constrain generalization. Weight change is not itself proof of reduced cardiovascular events or lifelong safety. Clinical evidence concerns a controlled pharmaceutical preparation, and does not establish the purity, biological activity or clinical suitability of a separately supplied research vial.
The evidence label describes the linked research, not the suitability of a catalog product for use in people. Formulation, identity, purity, and measured content must be assessed separately.
